Encourage acceptance and living in the present moment

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness has several definitions. The main premise behind being mindful is that we accept our feelings (positive or negative) and what is happening in our own lives without passing judgment. Life can be difficult and presents with challenges on a daily basis. The more judgments we pass onto ourselves and these challenges, the more stress is encountered.

Mindfulness encourages acceptance and living in the present moment with everything. Even in our darkest hour mindfulness can be employed. Mindfulness is a continued way of living and being. So, whether you are enjoying a meal with a friend or on your commute to work, it is to be done with full attention and positive regard.

What can be done mindfully, you ask? Just about anything! The list is extensive but to name a few:

Eating
Conversations
Exercising
Sipping Coffee
Playing with Kids

Driving
Meditation
Yoga
Self-Care

Mindfulness is being empathetically in tune and aware of your body and current feelings. It is a way to give to yourself before giving or taking from others.”
