FAQs

Supporting you on your journey

IS THERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?

Yes. There are a number of benefits available from participating in therapy. Therapists can provide support, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping strategies for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, grief, stress management, body image issues, and self-esteem. Many people also find that counselors can be a tremendous help when managing personal growth, interpersonal relationships, family concerns, child/adolescent development, and eating disturbances. Therapists can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem or point you in the direction of a solution. The benefits you obtain from therapy depend on how well you use the process and put into practice what you learn. Some of the benefits available from therapy include:
• Working together to provide balance in your family system
• Attaining a better understanding of yourself, your goals and values
• Developing skills for improving your relationships
• Finding a resolution to the issues or concerns that led you to seek therapy
• Learning new ways to cope with stress and anxiety
• Managing anger, grief, depression, and other emotional pressures
• Improving communication and listening skills
• Changing old behavior patterns and developing new ones
• Discovering new ways to solve problems in your family
• Improving your self-esteem and boosting self-confidence
• Finding solutions to the underlying problematic eating behaviors

OUR ADVICE TO POTENTIAL CLIENTS

Our advice for someone contemplating treatment is to take one step at a time. Start with the consultation and go from there. Thinking steps ahead often serves to detract from the present moment and prevents efforts to get help. After the phone consultation, clients often feel a sense of relief. They feel that they finally have a space that is their own and specifically for them.

OUR INTAKE PROCESS

We have a paperless intake process. Once you complete our brief phone consultation call, an intake will be emailed to you. The information you provide on the intake is extremely valuable; it is important that you answer every question thoroughly and honestly. You will supply your demographic information and personal/family history, and sign important documents.

Once your insurance is verified and all intake paperwork has been completed, you will receive a call/text/email from the assigned therapist.

WHAT TO EXPECT YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

Your first appointment will primarily consist of us building a rapport with one another while also identifying all presenting issues, history, and goals. Not much preparation is needed. Simply come with a degree of openness to share at your own pace.
